Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is my mom's birthday & my sister always does the best posts for birthdays. So just click here to see pictures of my mom.

As my sister said, I don't remember her sitting down very much, unless she had a migraine or was reading. I agree with my sister that we all got a love of reading from her. It has now been passed on to all but 2 of my children. The others I have to tell to put the book down & do something else. Of course, hours can pass while I'm reading & I don't even know it. Thanks for that love of reading Mom. Maybe that's why I love being a reading aide, to pass that love of reading on to other children.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!!

Which 2 of your kids don't read so I can mock them?

That would be Andy and Gary. Gary actually reads more than Andy, just not as much as the other 4 & said he is actually reading the BOM right now, so that should count?

I LOVE TO READ! I have read so many books that I have lost count of how many. When ever I am reading (unless it is for homework) Mom always tells me to go so chores or clean up my room or something, but I always wind up reading afterward. right now I am reading Too Good To Be True and it is so good!!

If I had to pick the most romantic scene in any movie that I have seen do you know which one I would pick? When the Beast gives Beauty his library.

I should do a post about that- the most romantic movie scenes. I wonder how many of our families scenes would involve books?

Dawna was just 3mos. old her first Christmas. I can remember her getting a set of books for one of her presents. That started a sort of trend in the family, and every Christmas everyone got at least one book for Christmas, and we have tried to keep that trend going. I remember one son-in-laws (can't remember which one) comment when boxes of books when with the wife. " Is that all you ever do, read." We thought it was very important in your lives. I'm just looking at the bins Dustin's things are stored in, and I think I see three just books, with other books filling holes in other bins. We have tried to give books to the Grandkids, but since we don't live close, don't know what they have.Who wrote that book, Morgan? Love Mom

Uh, well, you definitely started something, mom! We all still get books every Christmas and Sammy gets a new one at least once a week on our shopping trip to borders!

My kids ASK for books every Christmas (some on their birthdays even). And I am definately out of bookcase space. They all have bookcases in their rooms.

Out of bookcase space. Me too. And I have a tub full for Hunter and everytime I go to the store there is another one I just have to get him. And I already have books for his brother/sister.

I went to Barnes and Nobel the other day to get one book for my class, came home with 3. But I had a 20% off coupon, so that makes it ok, right?
