Yes, that is scared, not sacred. Today Lexie gave a talk in Primary. It was on prayer. She has a hard time with this, giving a talk, not prayer. Everyone tells her it is so nice she feels the Spirit so strongly. But no, she, like her mother, gets very nervous, extremely scared....and cries. It is not the Spirit most of the time, it is FEAR. She did really well & only sounded like she was crying for the first tiny bit of her talk, which was reading a scripture. Then, she did the rest of the talk just fine. I reminded her that this is probably, maybe, the last talk she will give in Primary since she turns 12 in January. But then, there may be one more since we have an extremely small Primary. Of course, then she realizes she gets to give youth talks in Sacrament meeting, in front of...THE WHOLE WARD!!! So maybe it's not her last scared day after all, and that prayer she talked about today will just have to keep getting her through talk after talk after talk....

Just wait until she goes to college, is put in the stake young adult presidency, is supposed to announce the speaker at a TRI-STAKE fireside and the high councelman leans over and says, just as she is getting up, "Please take 10 minutes and give a talk on..."
True story
I cannot give a talk to save my life. I've said no before. However, teaching GD or RS? Not a problem. I did it on a whim yesterday when our teacher's kid was sick. But a talk? No way...
